CSUS PhD Student Selected for Borlaug Fellowship, Awarded Best ISSRM 2016 Student Paper

CSUS doctoral student, Timothy Silberg was selected for a 2016 Graduate Research Fellowship Grant through the U.S. Borlaug Fellows in Global Food Security Program. The Borlaug Fellowship is administered through the Center for Global Food Security at Purdue University. The U.S. Borlaug Fellows in Global Food Security graduate research grants are intended to support students interested in developing a component of their graduate research in a single, developing country setting by supporting the student’s work in-residence at an International Agricultural Research Center unit. Timothy will use the fellowship to conduct research in Malawi, in a collaboration with Dr. Patrick Okori, Principal Scientist, Groundnut Breeding at ICRISAT/Malawi. Separately, Timothy’s paper submitted to the 2016 International Symposium on Society and Resource Management was selected as the Best Paper by a Doctoral Student. Timothy will present the paper at the ISSRM conference, which will be held in Houghton, Michigan, June 22-26, 2016.
